Day 1 | Activity 3:Scaling New Heights

What SPCA does: The SPCA is a charity that takes care of animals. They also rescue animals that are in danger and give them treatments, foods and many other things to help animals. People can adopt animals if they want. They protect over 40,000 animal who are abandoned, injured or sick.

This week for day 1, activity 3 for week 1 of SLJ, on our blog we chose a charity and wrote about what it does to help the environment. There were 4 choices, which was SPCA, Auckland City Mission, Air Rescue and OXFAM. I decided to choose SPCA. SPCA is a charity which helps animals.

I have really found this post interesting. Why did you choose the SPCA. I really like how you have explained what they do in a respectful way. Maybe next time you could talk more about what you learnt.

  3. Kia Ora Sakina,

It’s Dani here again. Well done for completing so many of the Summer Learning Journey tasks, keep up the great work! You have done a good job explaining what the SPCA does. Every year they have thousands of animals are helped by the SPCA. Have you got any pets at home? I have a cat that I adopted from the SPCA a few years ago and I hope I can adopt a dog soon!

As it is the holiday period many of the Summer Learning Journey team are currently away from work and are spending some time with their friends and family. This means that you would get many encouraging comments over this time. We want you to keep blogging and we will comment on as many of your posts as we can when everyone is back at work!

    Keep the blogging up!

    Blog ya later,

    Dani

  4. Hello Sakina! This is a really good description about the SPCA, including who they are and what they do. Your last sentence "They protect over 40,000 animal who are abandoned, injured or sick." was really interesting and most intriguing to me! I think what they are doing is amazing, and super caring. Why did you choose their charity in particular? Nice work!

  5. Hi Sakina,
I like your blog post about the SPCA. I find it great that there are organizations like then out there helping animals that are abandoned or mistreated. I have no idea that they manage to take care of more than 40,000 animals. That is amazing. Would you consider adopting an animal one day? Keep up the good work.
