Week 4 | Day 4 | Activity 3: Top Secret Street Art

This week for day 4, activity 3 of week 4 for SLJ, we were asked to choose two street arts the Watch This Space site. With the two street arts we chose, we wrote the differences and similarities. Above are the two arts I chose and the comparisons. This task was based on Banksy who is an influential artist from England. Banksy is secretive and private. No one knows his identity.

Week 4 | Day 4 | Activity 2: Try Your Own Tapa

Tapa: This is the tapa I have designed, above. The background colours represent the colours of the Afghanistan flag, which is my culture. The white lines represent the colour of the emblem of the Afghanistan flag. In the middle, I have a sign which represents my zodiac sign (Capricorn). Next to my zodiac sign is a map, which represent where I come from (Afganistan). Lastly on the outside is 4 stars which represents the stars of NZ. It represents where I was born which is New Zealand. 

This week for day 4, activity 2 of week 4 for SLJ, we were asked to design our own tapa, with a description about what each thing represents. Above is my tapa and my description. This task was based on Fatu Feu'u who is a Samoan artist living in New Zealand. He creates sculptures, prints, pottery, glass works and paintings.

Week 4 | Day 4 | Activity 1: Fashion Forward

Twenty-Seven Names were first called Love Lies Bleeding in 2006. They found out that the name was copyright by a company in US, so they changed it to Twenty-Seven Names. This business got their name (Twenty-Seven Names) by writing names who had supported their business. There were a total of 27 names, which is why they called their business Twenty-Seven Names. I like the name Twenty-Seven Names, because it represents the story about how they got their name and it really suits their clothing business.

This week for day 4, activity 1 of week 4 for SLJ, we were asked to read an article about how New Zealand brand got their name. Then we were asked to write how Twenty-Seven Names ( a clothing brand ) got their name and whether we think the name is good for them or if they should change it to another name.
