Kiwi Can

This week in kiwi can our theme was integrity and our new topic was reliability. First we played the energizer. For this energizer one person from their pair was blindfolded, while the other partner was to tag other pairs and protect their partner from getting tagged. After we played the energizer we talked about reliability. Reliability is when you trust others to do something. An example of being reliable is keeping a secret if your friend tells you one, because they rely on you to not spread it out to others. Once we talked about reliability, we played the activity, which was about relying on your partner to be balanced, when doing movements that include balancing together. Lastly we moved on to GKQ/General Knowledge Questions. In a circle there was a master who went around the circle, while the teacher asked a question. The first one who answered the question was master.

This term for a great session of kiwi can our new theme was integrity. Integrity means making the right choice when no one is looking. One example of showing integrity is picking up rubbish, when no one is looking. Something I learnt from Kiwi Can was the definition of honesty and why we show it. The activity we played was role play. The role plays were about showing honesty. My group's role play was about cheating in a test, but then owned up to it and told the truth. This week for kiwi can we had Mr. Matt and Ms. Lily. Our topic was still accountability and our theme was still integrity. We were also learning about consequences. First we did a energiser called Snatch that cone. We had to get into four lines and face the person that was in the other line. There was a cone between each of us. When Ms. Lily said cat we had to snatch the cone before our partner did. I was with Angelica. If one of us won we had to find another partner. Sandra won for this game. After we did the energiser we made a circle and talked about consequences. After we did our activity which was hand ball. Ms. Lily put us into two equal groups. One group had to go on one side and the other group had to go on the other side. We had to number ourselves from one to eleven. Whenever Ms. Lily said a number like eight we had to touch the cone and use one hand to hit the ball into the goal. I had a lot of fun playing this game. My group lost and the other group won by 8 to 6. Once we did that we did our catch phrase and went back to class.

This week for kiwi can we had Mr. Matt and Ms. Lily. Our theme was integrity and our topic was accountability. First we started off with a energiser that was called Shark Attack. For Shark Attack there was two sharks. The sharks had to hold a pool noodle and try to hit the fish which was the rest o us with the pool noodle. There was four hoops. When Mr. Matt said Shark attack we had to go in a hoop, so the sharks can't hit us with the pool noodle. Our feet had to be in the hoops. Every time Ms. Lily or Mr. Matt would take one hoop out. Once we played this game we sat down and talked about accountability, responsibility and ownership. When we finished doing that we played hand soccer. For hand soccer the girls had to go on one side and the boys had to go on the other side. We had to number ourselves up to fourteen. There was two cones on each side and there was a ball in the middle. If Ms. Lily said a number like five the person who got numbered five had to run, touch the cone and try to get the ball into the two cones.We could only use one hand and we couldn't kick the ball. Once we played this we played GKQ/ General Knowledge Questions. We had to get in five lines and Mr. Matt or Ms. Lily had to say a question. Then we had to answer it and get it right. For our buzzer we had to touch the ground, touch our head and say our name. Once we finished we said goodbye to Mr. Matt and Ms. Lily and went back home.

This week for kiwi can we had Ms. Lily and Mr. Matt. Our theme was Accountable and our topic was still Integrity. First we did a energiser called Copy me. For Copy me Ms. Lily put us into four groups. In our groups we had to choose a leader. For my group the leader we chose was Alayah. The leader had to get a card from Ms. Lily. There was card numbers and letters written down on the board. If the card was A we had to do the move that was on the whiteboard. There was different moves for each card. After all the card were finished we had to count how many cards we had. We had sixteen card and we were the winners of Copy me. Once we played Copy me we talked about accountable and honestly. When we finished we played Body move. First we had to get into pairs. One of us had to be at the front and the other had to be at the back. I was with Alayah. If Ms. Lily said banana we had to switch spots, if she said apple the person at the back had to crawl under the person in front, if Ms. Lily said watermelon the person at the back had to go on top of the person at the front, if Ms. Lily said pear we had to get into a group of four and if she said fruit salad we had to find another pair. This was kind of hard because we had to act and move fast. After this game we sat in a circle and did GKQ/ General Knowledge Questions. This time I was the master and had to go around until someone answers the question first. We did our class chant and went back to class.

This week for kiwi can we had Mr. Matt and Ms. Lily. Our theme was role models and our topic was Integrity. First we played a game of cats and mice. For cats and mice we had to get into equal lines. Then Ms. Lily chose two people to be the mouse or the cat. The cat had to have a noodle. The cat had to try and hit the mouse with the noodle. Whenever Ms. Lily said left the rest of us had to turn left and whenever Ms. Lily said right we had to turn right to try and keep the cat from hitting the mouse. Once we did this we played it again, but we had to get into two circles of boys and girls. Ms. Lily chose someone from the girls and boys. The girl that got chosen had to go in the middle of the boys circle and the boy who got chosen had to go in the girls circle. Ms. Lily chose someone she picked to be the cat and the other had to be the mouse. The mouse had to try and run away from the cat and the cat had to try and hit the mouse with the noodle. We had two rounds of this round. Once we did this we sat on the mat and told Mr. Matt and Ms. Lily about role models. Once we did that we had a dance battle. The girls had to go on one side and the boys had to go on the other side. When we finished doing that we had a dance battle. Ms. Lily had to choose a famous person and we had to act like it. One boy had to go on one side and one girl had to go on the other side. Ms. Matt put a songs on. It was like cat walking. We had to dance and walk to the other side. We had a lot of fun playing this game. At the end we did our catch phrase with Mr. Matt and Ms. Lily and went back to class.

This week for kiwi can we had Ms. Lily and Mr. Matt. Our topic was Role models and our theme was still Integrity. First we played a game called Bang. For bang we had to get into a circle. Someone had to go in the middle. They had to call out someone's name. The person's name who got called out had to bob down. The two people that was next to the person who bobbed down had to say bang to the other person. We had to pretend that our hands were guns. If someone said bang before the other person, the other person had to sit down. We had practise rounds and 2 rounds. The two people that was left had to face back to back. There was a magic word. The person in the middle had to say a sentence. Once the person said the magic word, the two people had to face each other and say bang. Once we played this game we sat on the mat and talked about role models and integrity. Then we played another game called tutti frutti. For tutti frutti we had to get into a circle again. We had to face the right side. Every time Mr. Matt said apple we had to hop forward, every time he said orange we had to hop backwards and every time he said banana we had to switch to the other side. If we did it wrong we had to sit down in the middle of the circle. We had some practise rounds and 2 or 3 rounds. After that we did GKQ/ General Knowledge Question. For GKQ we had to sit down and make a circle. Ms. Lily chose a master. The master had to go around everyone. Ms. Lily had to ask questions. The person who answered correctly had to be the master. Integrity is when you do the right thing when no one is looking. Role Models are when you encorage people, help people and more.

This week for kiwi can we had Ms. Lily and Mr. Matt. Our theme is still Integrity, but our topic is Role models. First we played Doggy Doggy. For doggy doggy we got split into a group of boys and a group of girls. We had to get into groups of four. There was two chairs. Someone had to sit on a chair and wear a blindfold. The person on the chair was the doggy. They had a pool noodle and there was a pen between their feet. The rest of us had to try and get the pen. The doggy had to try and stop the people from getting the pen. The doggy had to swing the pool noodle to keep the pen safe. If we got tagged by the pool noodle we had to go back to the whiteboard. We couldn't get the pen by going behind the chair or going to the side. Once we finished playing this game we sat down and told Mr. Matt and Ms. Lily what a good role model is. After that we played another game called Who's missing. For who's missing we all had to lie down and close our eyes. Mr. Matt or Ms. Lily had to touch someone. The person who got touched had to go to another room. The rest of us had to guess who was missing. We only had 3 guesses and we couldn't cheat.

This week for kiwi can we had Ms. Lily. Our theme for this week was integrity and our topic was making good choices. First we had to get into four groups of equal people. Then we played a game called clap. For clap everyone had to clap when Ms. Lily crossed her arms and opened her arms. If Ms. Lily was about to cross her arms we couldn't clap. If we did clap we had to sit down. We had two or three practise rounds and three rounds. Once we played this game we had to get into a circle and tell Ms. Lily some good choices to make and some bad choices to make. After that Ms. Lily split us into two groups of equal people. We then went to the school court. For this game we one group had to stand on one of the sides and the other group had to stand on the other side. We had to spread out. There was some balls in the middle. There was also one hula hoop for each team. Each team needed to choose one Jedi. The Jedi had to go in the hula hoop, wear a bib and hold a pool noodle. For this game everyone except for the Jedi had to get the balls and try to hit the other team and the Jedi. If someone got hit by a ball, they had to sit down and wait for the Jedi to touch the person with the pool noodle, so that the person who got hit by a ball could stand up and start hitting other people with the ball. If the Jedi go hit by the other team. That team would win. We had a lot of fun playing this game. We could only play for one round because it was the morning tea bell. Once we finished playing this game we said goodbye and went back to class. Our chant is making good choices is not a test, making good choices is for the best.

This week for kiwi can we had Ms. Lily and Mr. Matt. Our theme for this week is Integrity and our topic is making good choices. We had to make 3 groups of equal people. First we did a energiser. The energiser that we played was 21. For 21 we had to get into a circle. We needed a ball to play this. We had to pass the ball to each other and count up to 21. If someone had the ball and we just finished counting to 21 the person with the ball had to sit down. For this game we couldn't throw the ball we had to pass it. Once we finished playing this game we had to sit on the mat in our 3 lines. We talked about Integrity and making good choices. We had to tell Mr. Matt and Ms. Lily what Integrity is and examples of making good choices and examples of making bad choices. Once we talked about Integrity and making good choices we played another game called Terminator Tag. For Terminator Tag everyone was in. We had to try and tag each other. If you get tagged by someone you had to sit down. When the person who tagged you got tagged you could stand up and keep playing. If you tag someone and the other person tags you at the same time you have to do rock paper scissors. Once we finished playing this game we sat on the mat and did GKQ/General Knowledge Questions. We had to sit down in a circle. Once we finished doing GKQ we said goodbye to the Kiwi Can leaders and went back to class. Our chant is- Kiwi Can says good choices isn't a test, good choices are made by the best.
