Summary Learning Journey Reflection

This week for assembly, members from the Summer Learning Journey program who were ( Jordan, Georgia. Pelimani and Heather), came to hand out certificates and prizes to those who participated in the reading program. Also a member from Hugo Charity came, because they were helping with SLJ.  The Summer Learning Journey, is a program, where students from across the country participate in reading activities in the holidays to learn and build up their knowledge. This year's theme was Change makers. There are a total of 68 activities to complete with positive comments you can write on other people's blogs. Panmure Bridge School was in first place to have the most points out of New Zealand. For the Summer Learning Journey I came 3rd place and won a certificate, a badge and a bag full of items. At the end of assembly, we took photos with the SLJ members from the Manaiakalani cluster. Over the holidays I have really enjoyed completing the SLJ activities. The SLJ program has really helped me with my learning and I have gained new knowledge of information. I hope to participate in the Summer Learning Journey again. 

Summer Learning Journey Prizes

This week Hazel and Sophie from the Summer Learning Journey came to give prizes and certificates to the students who participated in the Summer Learning Journey programme. Also we had a special guest called Eveleyn, who is from the NZ Sailin trust. First we started with the certificates. I was shocked that a lot of people had participated in the Summer Learning Journey programme. After that we moved onto the spot prizes. From my class Marieta, Chavda, Florence and I got the spot prize. I was very surprised that I got a spot prize. In the prizes there were toys, candy and some lolly bags. We then moved onto the top three students who did more activities and comments in the Summer Learning Journey programme. The top three were Alex, Mele and Victoria. They got a lot of toys, lollies and more. Mele got a monster cookie pack and Alex got a ipad mini, itunes and more. Both Alex and Mele got a free sailing ticket. LS1 got a bean bag for having the most participants and the whole school got a pohutukawa tree.

Summer Learning Journey|Wasting Away|Faded Glory

1. We could donate 15 dollars every 5 days.

2. We can sell things.

3. We can make programmes for kids and parents each year.














This week since I forgot to do activity 3, day 5 of week 2, I'll do it. For this activity, we had to list three ideas for raising funds to preserve the Great Berrier Reef. The government of Australia is working hard to protect the Berrier Reef.
