Visualising & Questioning

LI: To visualise and question scenes in a book. This week for reading we had to visualise and question scenes in a book. First we got into partners. My partner was Sulia. Mr. Wong read two scenes from a book called The Revenge Of The Dragon Lady. Once he read two scenes we had to visualise the scenes and if we wanted we could add in questions. Once we did that we had make a copy of a google doc individually. Then we had to choose a book and visualise and question. For the google doc we had to include the book title, the scene location, the question, the answer, the answer location and the visualisation. Thor and Maleficient had to do two scenes and Percy Jackson and Harry Vader had to do three scenes. The books that I chose was Goosebumps, Goosebumps Revenge Of The Lawn Gnomes and A Series Of Unfortunate Events The Wide Window.

Modeling Book Changes

LI:To use a range of comprehensions strategies to go deeper into a text. For reading this week we had to make changes to our modeling books. The changes that I did was adding a activity and a video on the Junior book, adding a activity to the middle book and adding a activity to the senior book. I also created a person with question marks. The activities that I did was questioning wheel, Swop and Swap and writing questions before the text, in the text and after the text. I had fun making changes to my modeling book, so that the people who read it know what questioning means.

LI:To use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper into a text. For reading this week we had to post our modeling book again, but we had to record ourselves saying it. First I looked back to my modeling book jut in case there is any mistakes. I also added more images that went with some of the slides.  When I was recording with screencastify I had to say my modeling book over and over again. My screencastify video was on Questioning.

Modeling Book- Questioning

LI: To use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper into a text. For reading this week we had to create a modeling book. We had to get into our reading groups and talk about who is doing which reading strategies. We also had to go on the blog and think about what reading strategies we want to do. Then our teacher told us to come on the mat so that we could choose what strategies we wanted to do. I did Questioning. We had to make sure we had a Junior book, Middle book and Senior book. The things that I did was what is questioning? QAR Questions, 5 W's and 1 H examples, junior book, middle book and senior book.

LI:To pose questions of a shared text

I learnt how to make a QAR template, Questioning and predicting.We made it because it would help understand our own poster.The QAR template helped us write some questions about the story.The questioning helps us give some question we don’t know or we do know.The predicting helped us learn what it means.

Our teacher told us if we wanted to split or work together as a group.My group and I decided to split up or work together on one.We chose to split up because it would be more easier and we would finish it quicker. We wrote a description of what each thing means.My group and I gave some ideas for some of the 3 posters.
