This week was our last session of tech with Ms. Ferguson. We started off by finishing off our game pieces and boards. I was working on my connect four game. Since my counters were too big for my board, Ms. Ferguson cut them by 1 mm. I started by working on my base for my board, so it could stand. Ms. Ferguson gave us a challenge, which was to create a Halloween character or alien on tinker cad and thingiverse. For this challenge I decided to create a skeleton. I was really happy with how my game turned out and really enjoyed creating my board game, because it was my first experience. On our next rotation, we will have robotics with Ms. Munoz.

This week in graphics for tech we finished off creating our game board and pieces. With my connect four game, I started off by sanding my boards. Mrs. Ferguson lazer cut lines, so I could glue onto my board. As I was gluing the lines onto my board, I carefully tried to find the center of the board. I tried to glue the lines quickly onto the board, so that the glue doesn't sink into the wooden lines, which mean the glue won't stick onto the board properly.

This week in tech with Ms. Ferguson, we finished off creating our game pieces and our boards. For my game I decided to create connect four. For the counters I decided to make red and blue laughing emojis, that Ms. Ferguson had lazer cut. Ms. Ferguson also lazer cut the board I needed to create my game. I had lots of fun finishing of my game piece and boards.

This week in tech, we finished off creating our game pieces. The game that I decided to create was connect four, with emoji counters. On tinker cad, we made our game pieces to send to Ms. Ferguson, so she could print it on the 3D printer. Since I was creating connect four, my counters were lazer cut. For the counters I decided to make it blue and green laughing emojis. I used clay to make and practise making examples of the emoji counters.

This week was our last session at tech with Ms. Ferguson. We started off by creating our toy designs using cards to practice on. The toy I was making was connect four with emoji counters. After we made the toys, we practiced using tinker cad to make 3D designs. Tinkercad is a site where you can make 3D designs where you can print on the 3D printer.  Ms. Ferguson gave us designs to practice using the tools and shapes on tinkercad. We practiced making Ms. Anderson, a shape which wasn't on the shapes list and a shape with our initials on. We didn't use the 3D printer, because we were using it for our toys.

This week at tech with Ms. Ferguson, we started drawing 4 toy designs. We could use any board game we wanted and we could also change the shapes. The four designs I did was tic tac toe, connect 4, a puzzle and checkers. For the tic tac toe, instead of the x and o's I decided to do a kawaii pineapple and a avacado. For connect four instead of the counters, I did emojis. For the puzzle I decided to draw emojis and for the checkers I also did emojis. Once we drew and colored the designs, we chose one design to make next week.

This week for tech, we did graphics with Ms. Ferguson. In partners we chose two games which we could play using paper. My partner was Miiana. In our partners we played the two games for a few minutes. Miiana and I decided to play tic tac toe and hangman. After we played a few rounds, we planned how to make the games into 3D, like the materials, the shapes of the materials and more. Once we finished the planning, we went on a site called tinkercad, where we could make 3D objects for the 3D printer.

This week for graphics with Ms. Ferguson we created a DLO of logic toys. The DLO included photos of the toys, the parts and how to play the game/toy. After that, we learnt about 3D. 3D stands for 3 dimension. We also learnt about tone, which means how hard or how soft you sketch. On a big piece of paper, we learnt how to draw a cube and tone. We first practiced, so we could get better at it. The three different tones we colored were light, medium and dark. After practicing, we colored in the cube we drew with any color we wanted. I decided to choose blue, because it was my favorite color. When we finished coloring, we also learnt how to write letters in cubism.

Who am I?

This week in tech we moved to a new rotation. We were in graphics with Ms. Ferguson. Ms. Ferguson first introduced herself to us. After we were introduced by Ms. Ferguson, we created a poster about ourselves. The poster included images of things we like, like our favorite food or game and more. One of my favorite games are pubg mobile. The images we used were transparent. Ms. Ferguson taught us how to make the images transparent. On of the ways to make a image transparent is to search a image, press on tools, click on color and choose transparent. I enjoyed my first session with Ms. Ferguson.

Ramparts- Technology

LI: To learn about earthworks fortifications and examples in history. This week for inquiry we had to make a google slide of a technology that was used in the past. First we played a board game with a group of four. In our group I had Farzana, Victoria and Nicole. For the board game there was four pink counters on one side and four blue counters on the other side. The blue counters were the defenders and the pink counters were the invaders. There was a gold counter which was the treasure. The defenders had to defend the treasure. The invaders had to try and get the treasure off the defenders. Two people had to be the defenders and the other two people had to be the invaders. We had to move two counters each. If the defenders or the invaders were next to one each other we could attack which means we had to roll the dice. If the invaders wanted to attack and got six, but the defenders got one, one of the defenders would be killed. I had fun doing playing this board game. After we played the board game we made the google slide of a technology that was used in wars. The technology they could do was dig dirt. We could choose ramparts, hill forts or trenches. My group and I chose ramparts. For the google slide we had to write in what our technology was, two historical examples, the name of the locations and when it was built. Once we did that we presented it. After that we played the board game again, but we had a technology which was the rampart for the defending team. I had fun playing the board game.
