For kiwi can today we had Andy. We were still focusing on throw. We had kiwi sport in the netball court. The first activity we played was called fruit salad. We had to get into groups of 5. I was with Victoria, Sandra, Alayah, Florence and Charlize. We had to name our groups. We named our group cherries. Andy had to call out 2 groups. When Andy called out 2 groups they had to swap corners with each other. If Andy called out fruit basket we had to get surround Mr. Ogilvie. We had to be in the center third when we were playing fruit salad. The next thing we did was recapping on what we did last week. After we recapped on what we did last week we were doing shot put. Shot put is kind of like discus. For shot put we had to have dirty fingers, dirty neck, clean palm and elbow up. If you were right handed you had to face the hall and if you were left handed you had to face LS1 and LS2. We had to get the shot put ball and had to bring it up to our neck. We couldn't grip the ball. Our legs had to be a little bit shoulder with a part. We had to twist our legs at Andy. Our chin, knee and toe had to be all in a row. Once we did chine, knee and toe we had to go low then high,we had to twist our legs again and had to throw the ball. Once we practiced doing shot put we had to get into partners and we had to throw the ball towards the grass. When we threw it the ball was dirty so Andy told us to move back and do throw the ball on the net ball court. i had a lot of fun throwing the shot put balls.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

Kiwi Sport

For kiwi sport this week we were still focusing on jumping. The first game we played called volcanoes and valleys. For this game Andy had to put us into 2 teams. One team was volcanoes and the other team was called valleys. There was cones on the ground. Some of them was facing up and some of them was facing down. The volcanoes had to go up to the cones that was upside down and had to lift it up. The valleys had to go up to the cones that was up and had to put them down. We had to get as many upside down or up. After Andy had to count how many cones were upside down and how many cones were up. The one who had the most upside down or up won. The next thing we had to do was practicing our high jump. We had to stand on a line and practice jumping. We had to kick our legs up, if you are standing on the left side of the line you have to use your left hand to swing, if you are standing on the right side of the line your other leg is the backup. After we practiced our high jump we had to high jump on the pole for high jump. Andy put us into 2 teams again. We had to run up the high jump pole and we had to jump. At first it was half way and it was to easy, but the second time it was kind of hard. Andy told us if we wanted the line of the high jump pole down or up.

Kiwi Sport
For kiwi sport today we were working on jumping. The first game we played was leap frog. Andy chose 5 people to be the taggers. The other people had to be in the line and had to run around the netball court. The taggers had to try to tag the other people. If you got tagged you had to be like a small frog. The other people had to try and jump over you so that you can run again. The next thing we did was to jump. To make a good jump you have to have your arms ready to swing, legs open and shoulders and legs straight. Once you jump you have to pretend your sitting on a motorbike. You have to pretend your sitting on a motorbike so that you are balancing. The other game we played was called relay. We had to get into 14 groups. After the front person had to jump as far as you can. The next person had to stand beside the person who already jumped. Then the person who was standing had to make a jump. We carried on until the last person jumped. Andy had to check which group won. The last game we played was rock paper scissors. Andy put us into 2 groups. There was big spots around the net ball court. The first person in each group had to stand on one of the dots. After they had to jump forward to the dots. Then the 2 people had to do rock paper scissors. The person who lost had to go to the back of the line. The person who won had to carry on.

Kiwi Sport
Today the class and I had Run, Jump, Throw with coach Andy. We had Run,Jump,Throw was at the hall. The first thing we did was to sit on the ground and listen to Andy. She told us about what we learnt last week. After we told her what we learnt last week we played Here, There, Where, Everywhere. For this game there was 2 cones in the middle, 2 cones in the front and to cones on the back but they were on the edges. If Andy says here you have to go beside the front cones, if Andy say there you have to go beside the middle cone, if Andy says where you have to go to the back cones and if Andy say everywhere you can go anywhere. We played another game but I forgot the name. We had to get into partners and face each other. My partner was Victoria. Victoria had a white cone and I had a yellow cone. We had to place the cones at the edge of the hall. After when Andy said On your marks go we had to get the cones as fast as we could so we could get a point. After we moved on to starts. We had to take a big step back at the edge and then take a big step forward with one of our legs. Then we had to pretend that we were squishing the bug. After we had to bent our legs then the foot that is at the back will automatically come up. Then we had to run and do it over again. We then headed back to class.
