Papatuanuku & Ranginui Summary

This week in reading, we learnt about the Maori myths and legends. First we watched a video of a Maori story in sand art. To understand more about the story, we created a summary of the story, in partners. My partner was Miiana. This story was about how Papatuanuku and Ranginui were separated by their children, and the journey throughout New Zealand.

Graphics With Ms. Ferguson

This week was our last session at tech with Ms. Ferguson. We started off by creating our toy designs using cards to practice on. The toy I was making was connect four with emoji counters. After we made the toys, we practiced using tinker cad to make 3D designs. Tinkercad is a site where you can make 3D designs where you can print on the 3D printer.  Ms. Ferguson gave us designs to practice using the tools and shapes on tinkercad. We practiced making Ms. Anderson, a shape which wasn't on the shapes list and a shape with our initials on. We didn't use the 3D printer, because we were using it for our toys.

HIIT

This week we did HIIT with Mr. Ogilvie. This session was about strength. First we put on the heart rate moniters, to see how high our heart beats. After that we did an activity with a parter. My partner was Haylee. In our partners we tried to tap each others shoulders. The partner who got tapped, did a excersise. Mr. Ogilvie, then showed us each station, which were pushup, mountain climbers and pullups. Haylee and I first went to the pushups station. We each had turns of doing the pushups. We could do any type of pushups. Our next station was mountain climbers. We could do the mountain climber on the stage or on the ground. Mr. Ogilvie put on songs while were doing each station. Our last station was the pressups. One partner held onto the stick while the other tried to bring their body above the stick. After we did the rotations we did a heartrate test. The song Mr. Ogilvie put on was big sally up. For the test we did squats whenever the song play big sally up. If it said big sally down than we could stand up. Only 15 people could do this test until the end of the song. I found HIIT hard, because I was so tired from all the excersises that were based on strength.

Decimals Game

My maths game that I created teaches and helps you practice addition and subtraction decimal equations. In my decimals game there are gifs used in the correct and incorrect slides. There is also a link to a video and a website in the incorrect slides, to help you learn and understand how to solve the decimals equations. When you get the answers incorrect you can have another try at answering the questions. My decimals game was challenging and hard to think of, because I needed slides of correct and incorrect that led to the next question or a link and I needed to think about the questions, which will be right or wrong. My decimals game took a long time to create. When I finished my game, I asked someone to test it, so the links worked properly. I was given feedback about making the text bold or white, so I made a few changes. I enjoyed creating my game, because it was an interactive game, it was fun creating and was challenging to create.
