Week 3 | Day 3 | Activity 2: Printing Prosthetics

Something I Have Learnt: Something that I have learnt from the video about 3D printing prosthetic is that the prosthetic hands are body driven with no motors, sensors and no heavy batteries which makes it very light for kids who have Amniotic Band Syndrome.

Something That Surprised Me: Something that has surprised me from watching this video is that there are amazing prosthetic hands for kids with the syndrome to actually hold and grab things like a normal hand which is shocking and awesome.

This week for day 3, activity 2 of week 3 for SLJ, we watched a video about 3D printed prosthetic hands. 3D printed prosthetics are artificial body parts. We wrote down something that we have learnt and something that surprised us from watching the video. This activity was based on a man, Chuck Hull, who invented the first ever 3D printer.

Week 3 | Day 3 | Activity 1: Nanogirl

Tiny House: A tiny house looks amazing, which I would like to live in. It's awesome that a tiny house has all the supplies and furniture, the same as a normal house. I would like to live in a tiny house, because I would like to experience it and it has hidden secret places, like how each stair case has an opening. This is why I would like to live in a tiny house.

This week for day 3, activity 1 of week 3 for SLJ, we looked at tiny houses. First we watched three videos about the tiny houses. After that we wrote down whether we would like to live in a tiny house or not and why. This was based on Michelle Dickinson who is a nano technologist and is also known as Nanogirl.

Week 3 | Day 2 | Activity 2: Overcoming Adversity

Challenge That I Have Overcame: A challenge that I have experienced and overcame was when I did the activity, high beam. I am sort of afraid of heights. When I reached to the top of the high beam I was quite scared and nervous. As I walked on it I felt less scared and less nervous. This is the challenge I have experienced and have overcame my fear of heights.

This week for day 2, activity 2 of week 3 for SLJ, we wrote about a time that we or someone that we know has experienced a challenge and overcame it. This was based on Stephan Hawking. He was an English scientist who was diagnosed with a disease called Motor Neuron. Stephan Hawking was interested in studying the origin of the universe. He was a great person and didn't let his disease stop him from achieving his dreams. For this activity I decided to recount about me experiencing a challenge that I have overcame. The challenge that I have overcame was high beam, as I am quite scared of heights.

Week 3 | Day 2 | Activity 1: Through Careful Observation

I decided to create a description about the Starry Night art.

Week 3 | Day 1 | Activity 2: Influencers

Youtube Channel: If I had a youtube channel I would vlog. A vlogging channel is creating an interactive video about an event or your daily life and etc. I would vlog about my life, upcoming celebrations, events and probably my routines. I would like to have a vlogging channel, because I like to show others what I do in my life, and the events.

This week for day 1, activity 2 of week 3 for SLJ, on our blog we wrote about what type of youtube channel we would have. For this activity we imagined that we had a youtube channel. Week 2 | Day 3 | Activity 2: The Right To An Education

Camp Story: Sometimes, every year in the holiday of term 4, my family and I go camping around New Zealand. We always have fun and try out different activities. One of my favourite places to go camping is Rotorua, because of the activities like the skyline. My all time favourite activity is the luge cart. Not only do my family and I have a fun time, but we also spend time and get off technology and our devices. The men in my family cook food, while the ladies sit and relax until the food is ready. At the camping sites, we play volleyball and chat with each other. Something I like to do at the top 10 camping sites, is play on the bouncing pillow with my cousins and sister. On our last day of camping we go somewhere enjoyable, like the museum, the pools and many more. At the end we all have a awesome time camping.

This week for day 3, activity 2 of week 2 for SLJ, we wrote a story about anything, which was at least 10 sentences. My story was about camping with my family mostly every year. I have talked about what my family and I do when we camp around New Zealand.
