3D Shape

LI: To create my own 3D shape with a different capacity from volume
For maths this week we had to create our own 3D shape. I chose to do a rectangular prism. We had to get this big piece of paper and draw our net for our 3D shape. I also had to draw the tabs. After we drew our net and our tabs we had to cut it out and glue the tabs so that we could stick it to the other parts of the shape. Our capacity had to be different from our volume. Once we were finished making our 3D shapes we had to make a video about how to make a 3D shape. For the video I was working with Victoria. Once we finished making the video we had to blog it. I learnt to make a 3D shape.

Pixel Art

For a daily 6 task I decided to do pixel art. I did pixel art because I wanted to get better at my measurements. I had to look for easy pixel art designs so that I could draw it on pixel art paper. It took me a while to draw the pixel design. Whenever I do pixel art it helps me with my measurements because I am kind of bad a measuring and making straight lines. I colored the pixel art design that I drew because I thought that it would kind of stand out. I couldn't find a red coloring pencil so I used a pink coloring pencil. I learnt to draw straight lines and to draw pixel art designs.

Limerick Poem

There was a girl
Who laughed at a swirl
She began to get hot with angriness
From this day she never had happiness
She grew angry and angry until she found a boy.

LI: To write a poem about feelings.
For inquiry this week we had to write a poem about feelings. We had 4 types of poems to pick. They were Diamante, Cinquain, Haiku and Limerick. We also had to watch the 4 types of poems so that we can understand it. I chose to do a Limerick poem. A Limerick poem is when you talk about a place or poem, there has to be 5 lines, the top 2 lines has to rhyme and the middle 2 lines has to rhyme. I chose a Limerick poem because it was the easiest for me. I learnt to write down a poem about feelings/ emotions.

LI: Having a point of view and constructing an argument
LI: Structure of an argument
For writing this week we had to write down a 1 minute speech about having or not having technology in school. My group and I had a argument about having technology in school and not having technology in school. Victoria, Nyjah and I chose to write about having technology in school, but Jack, Julian and Alex chose to write about not having technology in school. After we wrote our speeches we had to go on Flip grid that was on the class site and record ourselves saying our 1 minute speech. Once we were finished we could put it in the bin and do it again or press next. We had to take a photo of yourself, put your full name in, add your email (optional) and add the link (optional). I just put in my full name and pressed complete. This was hypothetical work which means that it was fake.

Kiwi Sport

For kiwi sport this week we were still focusing on jumping. The first game we played called volcanoes and valleys. For this game Andy had to put us into 2 teams. One team was volcanoes and the other team was called valleys. There was cones on the ground. Some of them was facing up and some of them was facing down. The volcanoes had to go up to the cones that was upside down and had to lift it up. The valleys had to go up to the cones that was up and had to put them down. We had to get as many upside down or up. After Andy had to count how many cones were upside down and how many cones were up. The one who had the most upside down or up won. The next thing we had to do was practicing our high jump. We had to stand on a line and practice jumping. We had to kick our legs up, if you are standing on the left side of the line you have to use your left hand to swing, if you are standing on the right side of the line your other leg is the backup. After we practiced our high jump we had to high jump on the pole for high jump. Andy put us into 2 teams again. We had to run up the high jump pole and we had to jump. At first it was half way and it was to easy, but the second time it was kind of hard. Andy told us if we wanted the line of the high jump pole down or up.

Kiwi Can

LI: To control our emotions and to know what self control and self discipline means
For kiwi can we only had Ms Latoya because Mr Malu wasn't here. We were focusing on self control and self discipline. Our theme was resilience. The first game we played was called hand circle. The first thing we had to do was to make a circle. After we had to lye down on our stomachs. Ms Latoya told us to put our right hand over the persons hand who is next to you. Ms Latoya also told us to put our left hand over the persons hand who was on the left. We had to tap our hands on the ground when it got to us. If someone tapped there hand on the ground 2 times you had to go the other way around. The next game we played was called Bip, Bop, Bounce. We had to get into a circle again. Ms Latoya had to call out Bip, Bop, Bounce to people. When Ms Latoya says Bip, Bop, Bounce you have to say bang before Ms Latoya says bounce. If Ms Latoya doesn't say the whole thing to you and you say bang that means you are out. If your to late to bang your out. The chant is keep it real, keep it true, self control will see you through.

POV Chart

Having Candy at School
I think that the kids in Panmure Bridge School should be allowed to have candy at school. Kids should have candy at school if only the kids are educated. If some of the kids are too lazy to learn they won’t have any candy. If kids bring a big piece of candy they will have put it back in their bag. They can only have small pieces of candy. Kids have to ask their parents or caregivers if they can take candy at school.

If your teacher wants you to have 3 or less pieces of candy you can, but if your teacher wants you to have no candy you can’t have candy. If your teacher wants you to not have candy and you still eat candy you will get a punishment. The punishment will be that you have to wait for 1 minute to go to m.t.

LI: What is point of view
For writing this week we had to make a 2 paragraph topic on a google docs. After we had to share it to our group and we had to make a copy of the point of view chart. Then we had to share the point of view chart with our group. Our group had to read our documents and write down what their point of view about the document. They had to disagree or agree. I chose to write down what I wrote about my groups point of views. I learnt to know what point of view is.

The other people had to be in the line and had to run around the netball court. The taggers had to try to tag the other people. If you got tagged you had to be like a small frog. The other people had to try and jump over you so that you can run again. The next thing we did was to jump. To make a good jump you have to have your arms ready to swing, legs open and shoulders and legs straight. Once you jump you have to pretend your sitting on a motorbike. You have to pretend your sitting on a motorbike so that you are balancing. The other game we played was called relay. We had to get into 14 groups. After the front person had to jump as far as you can. The next person had to stand beside the person who already jumped. Then the person who was standing had to make a jump. We carried on until the last person jumped. Andy had to check which group won. The last game we played was rock paper scissors. Andy put us into 2 groups. There was big spots around the net ball court. The first person in each group had to stand on one of the dots. After they had to jump forward to the dots. Then the 2 people had to do rock paper scissors. The person who lost had to go to the back of the line. The person who won had to carry on.

3D Shape Planning

LI: To create my own 3D shape with a different capacity from volume.
For maths this week we had to make a plan for our 3D shape that we want to make. I chose to pick a square prism. The first thing we had to do was to draw the net for our shape. Then we had to draw where the tabs go for our shape. After we had to write down the volume and the capacity. The volume and the capacity had to be different. Once we finished writing down the capacity and the volume we had to had to add the measurements up. We had to write down a schedule for when we are going to finish the planning. On Monday I had to make the net and the tab, on Tuesday I had to find out the volume and capacity, on Wednesday I had to calculate the measurements, on friday I had to draw the shape on card board, on monday next week I had to cut the shape out and glue it and on Tuseday next week I had to blog it.

If the person with the ball rolls it between their legs that means their out. The next thing we did was to answer 5 questions. Mr Malu had to ask each team the same 5 questions. After you had to write the answers on the paper. Then once we finished writing down the answers 1 person or 2 people had to stand up and say their answers for the questions. The last activity we played was called sit dodge ball. We had to form a big circle. After Mr Malu had to count us 1 to 4. Then Mr Malu had to call out a group number. If Mr Malu says 1 the people who got counted as 1 had to walk into the middle of the circle. The people who were sitting down had to get the ball and roll it to the people who is in the middle. You had to roll the ball to the people so that it can touch their feet or leg. For this game there was 2 cones in the middle, 2 cones in the front and to cones on the back but they were on the edges. If Andy says here you have to go beside the front cones, if Andy say there you have to go beside the middle cone, if Andy says where you have to go to the back cones and if Andy say everywhere you can go anywhere. We played another game but I forgot the name. We had to get into partners and face each other. My partner was Victoria. Victoria had a white cone and I had a yellow cone. We had to place the cones at the edge of the hall. After when Andy said On your marks go we had to get the cones as fast as we could so we could get a point. After we moved on to starts. We had to take a big step back at the edge and then take a big step forward with one of our legs. Then we had to pretend that we were squishing the bug. After we listened to Ms Latoya and Mr Malu we started playing our first emotion activity. The activity was called Selfie Stick. We had to get into equal groups. Once we got into equal groups Mr Malu had to call out a emotion for one of our groups. After Mr Malu had to call out a emotion for one of the groups we had to pick up a plastic yellow stick and pretend the stick was a phone. After we had make that emotion with our face. Once the groups and I had turns we moved on to the next activity. I forgot what the name of the activity was but I think it was put the emotions from bad to good. For the activity there was papers that had emotions on. As a whole group we had sort the emotions from bad to good. After Mr Malu had to look at the emotions if it is in the right place or the wrong place. We got some of them wrong but we could put the papers of emotions in the right place. Mr Malu did again again but then we got it right this time. Once we finished this activity we moved on to GKQ. Mr Malu and Ms Latoya had ask questions to each of our groups. My group and I kind of got some right but other groups quickly said it. The chant is kiwi can say's emotions are, what we feel, let others know whats the deal.

Scale

LI: To scale 2D shapes using times tables
For maths this week we had to scale 2D shapes using times tables. The first thing we had to do was to draw a regular shape and 2 irregular shapes. After we drew the shapes we had to number the shapes. Then we had to write down what times table we are going to do. Once we did that we had to give our book to a partner so they could work it out. My partner was Mele and Victoria. Mele or Victoria had to give their book to me so I could work the scaling out for them. We also had to do a graphic on a slide to show how to do scaling. I learnt to scale 2D shapes using times tables.
