Week 4 | Day 4 | Activity 1: Fashion Forward

Twenty-Seven Names were first called Love Lies Bleeding in 2006. They found out that the name was copyright by a company in US, so they changed it to Twenty-Seven Names. This business got their name (Twenty-Seven Names) by writing names who had supported their business. There were a total of 27 names, which is why they called their business Twenty-Seven Names. I like the name Twenty-Seven Names, because it represents the story about how they got their name and it really suits their clothing business.

This week for day 4, activity 1 of week 4 for SLJ, we were asked to read an article about how New Zealand brand got their name. Then we were asked to write how Twenty-Seven Names ( a clothing brand ) got their name and whether we think the name is good for them or if they should change it to another name.

  1. Sakina - did you know that Rachel Easting and Anjali Burnett met at primary school. After studying art and fashion respectively the pair began working on small scale projects before launching their brand 'twenty-seven names'. The label name is a homage to the list of 27 people who helped to get their label off the ground.

  2. Hello Sakina,

I’m Melita from Christ The King School. I really like the information you wrote about how 27- names company got its name and how it got copyrighted. I like how yo have used proper punctuation and there are no spelling mistakes. All the best for your coming up activities. Have a great day. Keep up the spectacular work.

  3. Kia ora Sakina,

I agree, I think Twenty Seven Names is a good name. It acknowledges all the people who put the effort into the name! :)

If you had your own fashion brand, what would it look like? I want to know what the name of your brand would be, what the clothes would be like, and all the details in-between! :)

  4. Hi Sakina! I also think that Twenty-Seven Names is a beautiful name, and is a great way to represent their clothing brand. I'm really glad you've included how they got their name, instead of just weather or weather not you like their name. Would you ever start your own clothing brand? Nice job!
