ANZAC Facts

LI: To find 3 interesting facts, explaining why we found it interesting.
This week for another ANZAC activity, I did this task, where we wrote 3 facts we found interesting and why. There were many interesting facts about ANZAC. One of the most interesting facts, was that ANZACs were volunteers. This was very surprising, because I thought that they were chosen, but it was fantastic that they decided to volunteer, and sacrifice themselves for our country.

Point Of Views Of Plastic Straws In NZ

This week in writing, we learnt about provocation and created a DLO about the different perspectives of plastic straws. For the different perspectives we included facts and reasons to back up each perspective. We also added our opinion of plastic straws. Perspective, is different sides of articles, speeches and more. A fact is true information which can be checked. Provocation is when you trigger the readers feelings about a certain topic like plastic straws, in a speech. Lastly an opinion is your beliefs and feelings of a topic. My opinion of plastic straws is to stop using them. This is my opinion because plastic straws can damage sea creatures and animals health and life.

PBS Holiday Reading Program-Activity 1 Day 4

Fact 1-Austro Hungarian started war on Serbia so that they can get protected by the Germans, then the Russians started war on Austro Hungary that was supported by France. Other countries started making a world war. I find this fact interesting because a country started war then other countries started a bigger war.

Fact 2-The British and the French was trying to destroy the village Kiritha at a small mountain. I find this fact interesting because why would the British and French take down a village at a mountain?

Fact 3-The Anzac's had to put sandbags on their feet so that they didn't make any noise. I find this fact interesting because I didn't know that if you put sandbags on your feet it wouldn't make a noise.

For activity 1 day 4 I had to go on a museum site to find out things about a young soldier. Then I had to write down 3 interesting facts on the site. After I had to tell why I find the fact interesting. I got these facts by watching the videos on life of an Anzac solider. I listened to the videos a few times.
