Sky Tower | Home Learning Challenges

This week for another home learning challenge Florence, Haylee, Victoria, Taheesha and I decided to do the Sky Tower activities. For the first activity, we wrote a list of 5 facts about the Sky Tower, using our smart searching skills. For our second activity, we created a new mascot for the Sky Tower and gave an explanation about why we chose them. For our last activity, we chose an activity we could do at the Sky Tower and wrote down why we chose it, what it is and how much it would cost to do that activity.

Sky Tower Trip

This week we had a trip to the Sky Tower. First we went on the bus and travelled to the Sky Tower. Then we got out and went inside the Sky Tower. We got split into two groups, group A and group B. I was in group B. We went down the elevator. A lady took a photo of us. After we went into a lift. A lady told us things about the Sky Tower and took us places. The level we went to was 51. It was really high. There was a clear glass where you could see how high we went. Our ears were popped. After we got out of the lift. We received little booklets and little pencils. For the booklets we had to guess places around Auckland. There was pictures to show the places. There was a clear glass's where we could see the road from the Sky Tower. We all saw somebody bungee jump. It looked fun and scary. We only had 15 minutes at level 51. After we finished looking we walked down stairs all the way to level 45. If there was a fire we had to go to 44,45 or 46. At level 45 there was first aid kits, colouring and puzzles. We looked around level 45. Once we did that we went back to the ground and watched videos that gave us information about the Sky Tower. Once we watched videos of that we went on the bus and went back to class. I had an awesome and fun day. It was my first time going to the Sky Tower. The Sky Tower year built was 1997. The height was 324 metres. When you are bungee jumping and you get to the ground it is 11 seconds. To walk down the stairs, it takes 29 minutes to walk. I learnt lots of things about the Sky Tower.

PBS Holiday Reading Program-Activity 1 Day 2

For activity 1 day 2 I had to make a DLO that tells you 5 facts about the sky tower. For the DLO I decided to do a google draw because I think that it is easier. The website that I went on was Wikipedia and Sky City Auckland. The websites helped me find 5 facts. I had a lot of fun finding facts about the Sky Tower. For the Sky Tower photo I went on labeled for reuse but I didn't attribute it.
