Summer Learning Journey|A Heated Debate|You are my Sunshine

Wear sunglasses.

Wear a hat.

Put some sunscreen everywhere around your body that is shown.

Be in the shade.

Put some clothes on that doesn't show your skin.

This week for activity 2, day 1 of week 3 of Summer Learning Journey,
we had to list five different things to do to protect ourselves from the sun. This activity was worth 4 points. I had enjoyed listing five things to protect ourselves.

  1. Hello Sakina! It's great you know how to be sun smart since summer is here. I am glad to see you posting more often on the Summer Learning Journey and hope you can complete the whole programme. Keep it up!

  2. Hi Sakina!
I noticed that you are catching up with the SLJ. You are doing a fabulous job. You are completing these activities so quickly.I think your 5 things to do when outside on a hot sunny day are perfect. I totally agree with all of them.

  3. Kia ora Sakina,

Well done on completing yet another activity! You're doing a great job getting through the programme. :)

Those are some really important sun-smart messages. I don't think they can be stressed enough, particularly at this time of the year. Another thing I do is leave a beach umbrella in my car so that if there isn't any trees or shady areas at the beach when I go, I can make my own shade. It's very handy. I make sure I drink lots of water too - it's the perfect time of the year to whip out the ol' environmentally friendly reusable drink bottle! :)

Have you been spending lots of time out in the summer sunshine these holidays? I hope you've been following your sun-smart tips, if you have! :)

  4. Hi Sakina,
Great job on completing this activity! I liked how you said that we should wear a hat, wear sunblock, stay in the shade and put on long sleeved clothes during summer. Sunburn really hurts and staying in the sun for too long can lead to skin cancer. Have you ever been sunburned before?
