Week 3 | Day 5 | Activity 2: Caine’s Arcade

This week for day 5, activity 2 of week 3 for SLJ, we created a set of instructions about our favourite game. It could be a board game, a card game, sports and many more. I decided to create instructions about my favourite board game which is ludo. This was based on Caine Monroy who built himself an arcade when he was younger.

  1. I remember playing this game but not for a long time. I think it is a very old game in concept that has been updated.

  2. Kia Ora Sakina! Ludo sounds super fun, though I've never played it before. From the instructions of how to play to the picture, I think the purpose and set out of the game is very creative. Do you recommend others to play Ludo or try it out? Good work!

  3. Great game Sakina - we have family board game nights once a month and we all get to choose a different game. Is this your favourite? Mine at the minute is BLOCKUS... Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!

  4. Hey Sakina,

I’m Daniel, a SLJ blog commenter for the Kootuitui school but I’ve jumped on your schools to check out your awesome posts and give the Manaiakalani team a helping hand with commenting.

Hey I remember this game, this is a great choice. I'm really glad to hear people are still playing this (that makes me feel old). You've explained the rules well and the photo is great so we can see what you're talking about.

My friends and I would make up extra rules like if you rolled a 5 you had to jump up and touch all 4 walls of the room you were in before your next turn otherwise you didn't get to move 5 spaces, which could get really tiring if you rolled lots of 5's in a row. I can't actually remember the other rule but I think they were all sort of like that. Do you use any extra rules?

    See you in the comments.

    Daniel :)
