Week 3 | Day 1 | Activity 1: The World Wide Web

This week for day 1, activity 1 of week 3 for SLJ, we created a slide or poster of 4 helpful websites we use for learning. This was based on Tim Berners-Lee, who invented the World Wide Web, also known as www. The helpful websites that I have chosen that has helped me with learning, are transum, read theory, kiwi kids news and britannica kids.

  1. Hi Sakina, this is Mrs Collins from Manaiakalani and I'll be commenting on blogs over term break. Well done on posting and participating in the SLJ this year. I really like the DLO you shared about helpful websites for learning...which one is your favourite? Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!

  3. Salaam Alaikum Sakina,

Did you go camping these holidays? I went camping over the new year and went to Lake Rotoiti and Tauranga which was great because we experienced no rain at all!

I really enjoyed reading through your blog plost and found your websites that you posted very helpful! The first thing that captured my attention was your first title slide and then from there, your slides just got better and better. I say this because I appreciate how you describe what things are and why you chose them. I also dig that you add images too!

Just a gentle reminder that now that you've finished the programme, you can earn many more bonus points and help encourage other students to finish the SLJ programme by leaving thoughtful comments on other students' SLJ related blog posts!

    Cheers,
    Mani

  4. Hi Sakina! I really enjoyed scanning through these websites you were talking about in your presentation. These are all are a big help to my learning as well. Which would you recommend most to your student viewers? As well as which one do you use most? Although I have equal experience with most of them, I'd recommend "Britannica Kids" especially. It really does help with learning...Good job!

  6. Hi Sakina,
I liked how you said that you like using KiwiKidsNews because you learn lots of new and interesting things on it. I also liked how you said that you use Britannica to gain more knowledge on specific things. Are there any more websites that you use?
