Week 2 | Day 3 | Activity 1: The Right To Vote

This week for day 3, activity 1 of week 2 for SLJ, we imagined that the government created a new $10 note and wanted to replace Kate Sheppard with a different New Zealand women. We chose a NZ women and explained why we think we should replace them with Kate Sheppard. I have chosen Anna Stout. She was a social reformer in the women's rights.

  1. Salam Sakina!

Wow! What a great blogpost! I like how the colours go together. I would make sure to try and get the text box aligned so it could look better. I never knew about Anna Stout until you told me about her on your blogpost. I did this activity aswell, but I chose to do Jacinda Ardern! This is an amazing blogpost!

    Well Done Sakina!

  2. Hi Sakina, Mrs Collins from Manaiakalani again commenting on blogs over term break. Well done on posting and participating in the SLJ this year. I really like the narrative you shared about the new $10.00 note proposal... Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!

  3. Hello Sakina! Wow, I didn't know much about Anna Stout before reading your post. And I really enjoyed reading why you think she would be a good replacement for the 10$ note as well. But personally, I chose Kate Edger which you can find out more about on my blog post! How would you feel if YOU were the face of a dollar bill? I think I'd be super humble and proud for being on there for a reason...good work Sakina!

  4. Hi Sakina,
I liked how you said that Anna Stout should be on the $10 note because she's one of the lesser known New Zealand suffragettes. I also liked how you gave us background information on her. Would you want to be on the $10 note one day?
