Summer Learning Journey|Taking Flight|Wind Beneath My Wings
This week for activity 3, day 3 of week 3 of Summer Learning Journey, we had to create a DLO about a animal from a list. We needed to include three facts, an image or two of the animal. The animal I chose was a flying fox. The flying fox catched my eye, because I didn't know there was flying foxes. I had fun finding facts about flying fox.

Kia ora Sakina,
ReplyDeleteGeorgia here, from the Kaikohekohe (Northland) cluster! You will be seeing me and Dani floating around your cluster today because you guys are so busy. It is awesome to see how much effort and joy you guys are putting into your blog posts, keep this up!
Well done for picking a different animal, I don’t know much about the flying fox at all so I loved reading your blog to find new information. Fruit bats are also called megabats and they live in warm climates! I have seen a fruit bat once when I was in Fiji, they used to hang on the trees and eat the fruit we could give them. WOW! I didn’t know that their wingspans are about 1.5 meters, that sure is long!
Have you ever seen a fruit bat before? We only have short and long tailed bats in New Zealand, but they are very small.
Keep up the excellent work!
ngā mihi,
Georgia E
Hi Sakina,
ReplyDeleteGreat job on completing this activity! I liked how you found some interesting facts like there being 62 species of flying foxes, flying foxes being the biggest bats on earth and that their wingspans 1.5 metres wide. I also liked how you explained why fruit bats are called fruit bats, since they only eat fruit. If you could adopt a fruit bat, would you want to?
