Swimming- YMCA Pools
LI: To learn how to swim. This week for kiwi sport we had swimming at the YMCA pools. First all of us sat down. Cameron teached us about hyperthermia and hypothermia. Hyperthermia is when your body is too hot, so like overheated. Hypothermia is when your body loses heat, so it means that your body temperature is low. After we learnt about hyperthermia and hypothermia we went back to swimming. The coach that I was with was Kelly. First we had to jump into the pool safely. Then we got the pool noodles and floated on our backs to the other platform. While doing that we had to bring our arms forward than back. Once we did that we floated on our front and kicked to the platform. After that we got the boards and floated on our front. We had to kick underwater and get to the platform. When we finished doing that we did the same thing, but float on our backs with the board. Then we tried floating on our backs without anything. While doing that we had to bring our arms close and far. We swam to the other side of the platform. Once we did that we could do any swimming to the other side of the platform. Once we finished that we got out of the pool and went to change. After that we went on the bus and went back to class.
