Ramparts- Technology



LI: To learn about earthworks fortifications and examples in history. This week for inquiry we had to make a google slide of a technology that was used in the past. First we played a board game with a group of four. In our group I had Farzana, Victoria and Nicole. For the board game there was four pink counters on one side and four blue counters on the other side. The blue counters were the defenders and the pink counters were the invaders. There was a gold counter which was the treasure. The defenders had to defend the treasure. The invaders had to try and get the treasure off the defenders. Two people had to be the defenders and the other two people had to be the invaders. We had to move two counters each. If the defenders or the invaders were next to one each other we could attack which means we had to roll the dice. If the invaders wanted to attack and got six, but the defenders got one, one of the defenders would be killed. I had fun doing playing this board game. After we played the board game we made the google slide of a technology that was used in wars. The technology they could do was dig dirt. We could choose ramparts, hill forts or trenches. My group and I chose ramparts. For the google slide we had to write in what our technology was, two historical examples, the name of the locations and when it was built. Once we did that we presented it. After that we played the board game again, but we had a technology which was the rampart for the defending team. I had fun playing the board game.
