Swimming-YMCA Pools
LI: To learn how to rescue someone in the water. This week for kiwi sport we had swimming. First we all gathered up and Cameron and James talked about how to rescue someone. Before we did that we told Cameron and James what we do when we are drowning. Once we did that we learnt about how to rescue someone. To rescue someone you need to tell a adult that knows how to swim or a life guard. You something that floats for the both of you, like a rope. Once we did that we got into partners. My partner was Liletina. Someone had to be in the water. We all got one pool noodle between our partner. Once we did that the person of the bench had to pass the pool noodle to the person in the water and drag them out of the water. The person in the water had to put their hand up and shout help loud at least three times. Once we did that we learnt how to float in the water. To float we could either float on our backs and put our hand up and say help or we could make our legs go in circles and bring our arms forwards then back far. When we finished doing that we got out of the pool and we went to get changed. Then we went on the bus and went back to class.
