Persuasive Writing- Structure & Language Features
LI: To identify the structure and language features of a persuasive text. This week for writing we were learning about persuasive writing. First we learnt about the structure and language features of a procedural writing. The structure of a procedural writing is OREO which stands for opinion, reasons, explanations and opinion. The opinion is to state your opinion, so people can believe in your opinion. The reason and explanation is to help the opinion. The last opinion is the same thing as the other opinion. The language features is simple present(infinitive tense), emotive words/devices and cause and effect words.
Once we learnt the structure and language feature we made a copy of a google draw. The google draw had a persuasive text on it. First we had to copy and paste the sections of the text in the correct positions on the right. We needed to highlight the language features of the text. We had to highlight simple present yellow, we had to highlight emotive words/devices red and we had to highlight cause and effect words blue.
