Hiwi The Kiwi Visit | Fish For The Future
This week Hiwi The Kiwi (Mrs & Mr Mistral) visited the school to teach us about how we can have more fish for the future and why we should respect the sea. We also learnt the safety rules and lessons of fishing, which are always wear life jackets just in case of an incident, pick a fish with a wet towel, so the coating doesn't come off, bring salt ice to keep the fish cold and bring a ruler to measure the size of the fish. If it is 30 cm you can take it. To have more fish in the future we need to let the breeding fish go, so it can have baby fish and we also need to let the baby fish go, so it can grow and breed and to pick rubbish if you see it, because the fish and seabirds would think its small sea creatures. Mrs & Mr Mistral asked us questions. If we got question correct, we would get a poster and a sticker. Mr & Mrs Mistral sang us songs and taught us dance moved that were about why we should respect the sea. I enjoyed learning about why we need to respect the sea, so we can have more fish for the future.
