This week I decided to do basic facts boxes. For basic facts boxes you can do addition and subtraction or the times tables. I decided to do addition and subtraction. After that you have to choose what your going to add or subtract up to. I decided to do up to 20. There will be equations showing up. You have to answer the equation. Once you answer the equation it will say if you are correct or if you have to try again. Here is the link to view- Basic Facts Boxes

Boxing
This week for boxing we had Pax. First we went over the three commandments, which is respect, discipline and safety. Respect is I will respect my coach, equipment and peers, discipline is I will show up to every kiwi sport and give my 100% and safety is I will not hurt others and I will practise boxing with safety. Then we had to put on the gloves under 90 seconds. This time we all wore the gloves under 90 seconds. After that we got into a circle and did the two punches we learnt from last week, the jab and the cross. We did each 10 times. Once we did that we learnt how to walk forward and back in our rock position. To walk forward you have to take a step forward with your left foot, then your right foot. The same with the back, but the opposite way. After that we got into partners. My partner was Sulia. Then we learnt how to do the hook and the uppercut. To do the hook you have to get into your rock position. Then you have to twist your body and you also have to twist your foot. After that you have to punch 90 degrees sideways. For the uppercut you have to twist your body and twist your leg. Instead of punching sideways you have to punch up. Once we learnt the hook and the uppercut we practised a few time. We then did combinations. This was hard for me because we had to do it fast. After that we said goodbye to Pax and went back to class.

After we listened to the book we had to create a google slide showing the weathers that happened in the last few days. The days we had to do was Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. For the google slide we had to write down the sentences of the weather in Maori. We also had to include photos of the weather. I decided to include the translation.

This week for kiwi can we had Mr. Matt and Ms. Paige. First we started off with the energiser. The energiser was called centre ball. For this game we had to make a circle. Ms. Paige numbered us 1 to 4. If Ms. Paige said 1, the people who got numbered 1 had to run around clockwise and back to their spot. Then they had to run to the middle and get the ball. We all had turns to play.
Once we played this game we sat down in our four lines and talked about respect and the school rules.
After we did that we moved onto the activity. The activity was called bus stop. For bus stop we got split into 5 groups. In my group I had Miiana, Sione T and Pua. We received a piece of paper and a felt tip. We had to draw 6 lines vertical and one line horizontal. We also had to write down the categories, which were boy name, girl name, food, animal and colour. We also had to include the total. Once we did that Ms. Paige and Mr. Matt called out a letter. We had to write down words that started with the letter. If it was e we had to write down a boy name, a girl name, a food, a animal and a colour starting with e. If we finished we had to say bus stop. The rest of the group had to stop. After that we had to tell the boy name, girl name and more. If two groups or more had the same answer then we would get 5, but if no one got the same answer then we get 10 points. The winner of bus stop was my group.

Conflict Resolution - Spark
LI: To analyse a story for its conflict and resolution. This week for reading we had to make a copy of a conflict and resolution DLO. First we had to read a story called Spark. After that we had to make a copy of a conflict and resolution DLO. For the conflict and resolution DLO we had to write down characters that had the same ideal. The other things we had to include was the conflict, the two actions and the resolution. A book that is kind of similar to Spark is called Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. Count Olaf tries to kidnap or kill the Baudelaire kids to get famous, but the Baudelaire kids try to run away from Count Olaf. Conflict means a argument between two or more people and resolution means ending the conflict.
