Commenting
For cyber smart last week we had to comment on a Tamaki primary person and a LS2 person from Panmure bridge school. I only did Tamaki primary school because I din't have time to do Panmure bridge school. I had to add in a greeting, making connections, questions/advice and motivation sentences. This was pretty hard and kind of easy to do.

Celebrations around the world
LI: To develop an understanding of the different elements of Matariki
For inquiry I learnt what kinds of celebrations around the world mean. I also learnt what people do when there is a celebrations, what they eat and other kind of stuff. One of the celebrations I celebrate is Eid and Eid is my favorite celebration. I learnt this stuff by looking on the LS1 sight on inquiry and choosing which one I should do. I chose Celebrations around the world because I thought it would be the easiest and it actually was.

Angle degree
LI:To find the angle degree of a object.
For maths I learnt how to use a angle degree ruler to measure fractions. I also learnt to find the answer for the angle degree. All of the groups had to do. We had to get into partners or groups to measure the angle degree of fractions. My partners were Victoria and Sandra. This was quite easy to do. We chose to measure 5 fractions with the angle degree. I learnt this by working together in a group and finding the angle degree of fractions together.

Using 10 words to describe Matilda
LI:To interact and comprehend a range of narrative texts
For reading I learnt to describe a character’s acting using 10 words. I also learnt that you might want to add a photo of your character you are choosing. I chose Matilda because I always watch the movie Matilda. I learnt this by looking on the Matilda follow ups and choose what I could do. I could get into a partner, but I didn’t want to. I also learnt this by telling my friend’s if I should add line or not.

Writing Word Problems
LI:To choose addition or subtraction to solve word problems
I learnt to write addition and subtraction word problems. I also learnt that the word problems have to make sense. I had to write 10 of them that was subtraction or addition. We could change the numbers, but the numbers had to be 2 digit, 3 digit and 4 digit.
I learnt it by writing the word problems then figuring the answer out. We have to tell how we worked it out. We either had to do 1 or 2 ways of how we did it. I did 1 way because it would be the first thing that pops in my head.

Measurment of time
LI:To learn how to measure time
For maths I learnt how to measure time and how to measure something by using a stopwatch and running. I also learnt how fast my group and I can run. My group and I firstly ran at the hall, netball court then the small field. After we measured every person’s time we had put it on a google sheet. Then we went back inside the class and added our own times. I was tired once I had to run. I had to use all of my energy to run because I wanted to be first place.
Narrative Checking
LI:To buddy conference to start to edit and check writing
For writing I learnt to work with a buddy and check each other’s writing work. We also had to comment what we should change, write or delete. The narrative we had to write is about Jack, Jill and the monster. I learnt it by getting into a partner and checking each other's narrative work. I was working with Jack. For Jack’s work I added 6 comments for him to fix, so that his writing narrative was more better. To check other people's narrative you actually have to look through slowly to find things .
Information about Roald Dahl
LI:To research on Roald Dahl
For reading I learnt to do some research on Roald Dahl. I also learnt what Roald Dahl used to do, how he died, who he got married to and what his job was firstly.
I got the information by going on https://www.roalddahl.com/roald-dahl/about. If you go on this it will tell you about Roald Dahl. I also learnt it by putting some things that I know about Roald Dahl on. I could work with a partner, but I didn’t want to. My favourite book that I’ve read and need a little bit more to read is Matilda.

Compare and Contrast
L.I: to compare a piece of technology with a technological system by similarities and differences.
This week for inquiry, we have been learning about pieces of technology, and technological systems. A piece of technology is an item created by humans, to make life easier, and a technological system is something also created by humans, but transforms an input, into an output. We needed to compare the differences, and similarities of a piece of technology of our choice around the class, and a technological system of our choice around the class.

Exciting Hook
LI:To learnt how to write a exciting hook
For writing I learnt how to write an exciting hook. I also learn what onomatopoeia means. A onomatopoeia means a sound such as Bang,Kapow,Ahh.
I learnt it by getting into groups of 4 then writing 3 exciting hooks on a small whiteboard. The 3 things we had to write for the exciting hooks was a princess who had ice powers, us being in a race and a haunted house. This helped me write my own exciting hook that we had to use from our planning of the monster, Jack and Jill.

Finding the liquid volume
LI:To learn how to measure liquid volume.
For Maths I learnt how to measure the volume of liquid things. I also learnt how to convert mL to L or L to mL.By doing that we have to divide or multiply. I also learnt how to find the mL or the L on the liquid things.
I learnt this by listening to my math teacher who gave me some examples of what the google drawing would look like. We had to find liquid things on google search and we had to remember to attribute it. Then we had to give a little text about what the drink or detergent and stuff is.

10 words that I don't know
LI:To interact and comprehend a range of narrative texts
For reading I learnt to find 10 words I don’t know from the book Matilda and then add it onto a google drawing.I also learnt what 5 words mean because I searched it up. 1 of the words I like is emerge. Emerge means when you move out or you run away from something and become visible.
I learnt all this by going on the Matilda Follow-ups and reading The book Matilda from chapter 1 to 4. Then I chose one activity to do. I chose 10 words I don’t know. I learnt what 5 words mean by searching on google search. Searching what 5 words meant helped me understand the words I don’t know better.

Pieces Of Technology, And Technological Systems
L.I: to define a piece of technology and to define a technological system.
This week as an extension to our inquiry lesson, we learnt about what a piece of technology is, and what a technological system is. A piece of technology is an item that has been developed by humans to make things easier. A technological system is also something made by humans to make things easier, but to do so you have to put in an input, and it will transform it into a output. The activity we did was to sort out a bunch of pictures into groups of pieces of technology, and technological systems.

POV and MC Charts
LI:To make connections and synthesis
For reading I learnt how to use the point of view chart and making connections.I also learnt what each boxes are.For making connections there is Text to Self,Text to Text and Text to World. There wasn’t any for the point of view. For the point of view we had to write things about the characters.
I learnt it by listening to my teacher or my classmates if I forgot. The first thing we had to do was to do the making connections. For the text to text we had to write something under the text to text that was in a story then where it says my connections you have tell something about you that is similar to the words. For the text to text we had to write something from the book that is similar to another book.Lastly for the Text to world we had to write something from the book again then tell something that happened to other people, but it can't be you.

Planning and Character description
LI:To plan a narrative
For writing I learnt to plan a narrative. The group and I only had to work on the orientation and the title. For the title I learnt to make a title that will tell the reader what the story will be about.I also learnt to write a character description. For the character description we had to use some figurative language and a little bit of literal language.
I learnt this by listening to my teacher carefully to what he is saying.I also learnt it by the first time I did the character description. When I started the 3 character descriptions I went back to the Harley Quinn description for an example. For the orientation I added other characters which is zombies because if it was only the monster,Jack and jill it wouldn’t be fun enough for the reader.
