Technology|Wood Work With Mr. Grundy
For another awesome day of tech we did wood work with Mr. Grundy. We started on cutting our wood and the joints with the backed saw and the wood chisel to finish off our designs. I had already cut my wood and one of my joints for my chest of draws. Since my wood wasn't straight, I used help from Mr. Grundy. He used a machine to make my wood straight. If our joints didn't fit in, than we could use the sand paper to make it fit. I was really happy that my joint and other piece of wood fit together. I enjoyed my day of wood work with Mr. Grundy.

Blog Post Data Analysis
For Maths, we analysed our blogs to see the amount of how many blog posts we had in each month and year since we started starting. We made a graph to add the the statistical information. We also added the average number of blogposts, created a goal of how many blog posts we want to achieve and why we had less or more blogposts in each year of month. My goal is to complete 900 blog posts by the end of the year. My total now is 792 blog posts. I have to do an average of 10.75 blog posts each month to achieve my target. Something I found interesting was that in 2018 I did more blog posts than all the other years, because I was really confident and I did the Summer Learning Journey activities.

Tech|Reflection
This week for another awesome day of Tech, we did woodwork with Mr Grundy. We started cutting our piece of wood to make our design. The design that I chose was a chest of draws. We used a backed saw to cut the wood and a backed hook to put the wood on. We tried to make sure the wood was cricked. If it was then we could take it to Mr. Grundy, so he could fix it with a machine. Some of us also started cutting the joints used to make the design. I had a great time starting on cutting my piece of wood.

Ki O Rahi|Reflection
This week for another fun day of Ki O Rahi, our coach was Shaneese. For this session of Kiwi Sport, we played the real game of Ki O Rahi. We were split into two teams. One team was the Taniwha team and the other was Kio Ma. Kio Ma started with the ball, by kicking it to the guardians in their team. The guradians tried to catch the ball to pass it to their teamates. To earn points Kio Ma ran and touched as many poes, then tryed with the key. We were all wearing tags. Taniwha tried to hit the tupu/rock with the key. They also tried to rip the other teams tag from earning points and get the key. Together as a team we worked collaboratively and hard.

Dare Impact Message
This week we were lucky to have Constable Cyrus to teach us about the dare program, like drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. We learnt about the 4 l's which are lungs, love, liver and livelihood. We also learnt about the affects of drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. After learning about the affects and the 4 l's, we created a DLO to show a message to others, about drugs, alcohol or cigarettes.

Kiwi Can
This week for another fun day of kiwi can, our kiwi can leaders were, Ms. Paige and Ms. Mac who was new. Our topic for this week was positive relationships and our theme was co-operation. We first talked about positive relationships, positive communication and co-operation. Positive relationships is when you have good relationships with others, positive communication is when you talk to others in a positive way and lastly co-operation, is when you work together and negotiate to an agreement. Our energizer was called A's and B's. For A's and B's, we chose two people who were your A and B in our minds. We tried to get as close to A and as far as your B. Our activity was Magic Boots. For Magic Boots we got into groups. One person had magic boots who could cross over the toxic lava to go to the safe zone. The magic boots person tried to carry their teammates to the other side while their feet not touching the other side. The person to the safe side also has magic boots.

Writing Self Evaluation
Why does plastic bags harm our planet?
Did you know that almost everyday people use single use plastic bags? Not only does single use plastic bags harm our environment, it also harms our planet. These can effect a lot of lives around the world, like sea animals and even people. Now that people know about the causes that single use plastic bags do, shops around the world have been banning them and replacing the single use plastic bags with reusable plastic bags.
The reusable bags can be used over and over again whenever we go out to buy grocery. If we keep up with the reusable plastic bags, we can change our environment where there wouldn’t be any single use plastic bags. Many people around the world have signed the petition to stop single use plastic bags.
It’s amazing that people have been taking matter in their own hands with the single use plastic bags. The single use plastic bags go to three main places, which are oceans, litter and landfills. It really harms the world, because single use plastic bags break down till 400 years. Over 10 billion plastic bags have been used every year in Earth. The sea animals would be in danger with the single use plastic bags around.
When plastic bags go into oceans the sea animals would eat them, because they think that it is jellyfish, but it's really not. In a few years plenty of sea animals would die, because of us using the single use plastic bags. Also when the plastic bags are around the place, people can get cancer. We have to put a stop to this, so that there is no damage done to our planet. What if in a few years there were single use plastic bags all over the place?.
This is why we shouldn’t use single use plastic bags anymore. Let’s keep our world clean by not using single use plastic bags anymore. We need to reduce the level of single use plastic bags, then lives. If everyone bans these plastic bags, then we can change the world.

This week we got into partners or groups, and checked each others writing samples. We used the PBS writing rubric to see which level we were on. I was with Mele and Marieta for this task. After checking which level we were on, we gave feedback to each other and to our selves, like what we need to work on and what we did good. Above is my writing sample and also my groups feedback and mine.

Tech With Mr. Grundy|Wood Work
This week for tech we did wood work with Mr. Grundy at Tamaki Collage. For wood work we were finishing off our design. I chose to create the chest of draws. We measured and drew our design on a piece of paper. After finishing off that, Mr. Grundy signed our designs. We could work on cutting our wood to create our design.
Kiwi Can
For our fourth session of kiwi can, our topic was positive relationships and our theme was positive communication. Our kiwi can leaders are Ms. Paige and Mr. Alabati. To me I think that positive relationships means when you have a good relationship/connection with each other. Positive communication means when you talk in a positive way, with others. The energizer we played was called "hoop tug of war" and our activity was called "kick ball". For hoop tug of war we got into four teams, then had to try and pull the hoop to touch the cone. For kick ball we were split into two teams. Then we had to kick the ball for the other team to catch. The other team had to catch the ball, so the person from the other team doesn't run to the other side.
Ki O Rahi|Reflection
For our fourth session of Ki O Rahi, we were learning about Kio ma and played golden child. Our coach was Shaniese. We each had turns of kicking the ball and being the guardian. After learning about the start of Ki O Rahi, we played Golden Child. For Golden Child taniwha hit the key to the tupu to get kio ma out. Kio ma had to run and hit each poe with the ball. I've had a lot of fun playing Ki O Rahi which is a Maori legend game.

Read Theory
For Read Theory this week I read short stories of different sentence types. We had 15 minutes of Read Theory, so we could improve with our reading. The stories I read was Machines, Fungi, Save the Rainforests? and more. These stories were very interesting. For the Machines and Fungi stories, I got all of the questions correct, but with the Save the Rain Forests story I wasn't really good. For me to improve for my reading, I think that I should re read the stories and questions, so I can get a clear understanding.

Current Events
This week we started on Current Events with our collaborative groups. We found two articles for the Current Events. The first article was about how there was a lockdown at Bellevue primary school. A girl shot people from the school. She had a list of teachers and kids on who to kill. Once her mission was finished she killed herself. The next article was about how a man and a dog survived in the snow by eating Taco Bell sauce. My group and I worked collaboratively to complete the Current Events.

9 Times Tables|Care Awards
This week for my third activity of earning my excellence and innovation badge, I decided to do the activity where I completed 6 days of Transum to learn one of the times tables, which included activities. I decided to work on my 9 times tables, because I was sort of stuck on it. I decided to create a DLO to add my photos of the activities I was playing for each day. I enjoyed my time of learning my 9 times tables.
