PBS Holiday Reading Program-Activity 1 Day 2
For activity 1 day 2 I had to make a DLO that tells you 5 facts about the sky tower. For the DLO I decided to do a google draw because I think that it is easier. The website that I went on was Wikipedia and Sky City Auckland. The websites helped me find 5 facts. I had a lot of fun finding facts about the Sky Tower. For the Sky Tower photo I went on labeled for reuse but I didn't attribute it.

PBS Holiday Reading Program-Bonus Activity Day 1
For the bonus activity of day 1 I had to choose a ride then I had to write down who I would recommend the ride to, why I would recommend the ride to a friend and I had to write down how I might feel if I was on the ride. I could only use 25 words to write down the things. I used a google draw and added a Corkscrew Coaster photo to show you how it looks like.
PBS Holiday Reading Program-Activity 2 Day 1
For activity 2 day 1 we had to write what the minimum height is to ride the Stratosphere and we had to write why we think that there is a height restriction. I used 2 photos to show you what the Stratosphere looks like and how the people are reacting while they are on the Stratosphere. I decided to make a google draw to show tell you about the questions.

PBS Holiday Reading Program-Activity 1 Day 1
For activity 1 day 1 I had to use a google maps to find where Rainbows End is located in Auckland, I had to find out how much it costs for a family pass and I had to find out how much it would cost for my family. Rainbows end is at 2 Clist Crescent. For my family it costs 580 dollars to go to Rainbows End for the gate price because I added up 62+62+62+62+62+62=372, then I added up 372+52+52+52+52=580. It costs my family 540 dollars for the online price because I added 58+58+58+58+58+58=348, then I added up 348+48+48+48+48=540.

Raz kids
For raz kids I read Every Dog Has Its Day. This book is about a bull dog named Roscoe. Roscoe's owner chained him outside because the owner had to go work. One day 3 boys went passed Roscoe. One of the boys had a candy bar in his candy. Roscoe jumped to grab the candy bar, but he was chained a couldn't go any further. The boys laughed at Roscoe because he wanted to get the candy. The next day a boy grabbed a stick put it up high. Then Roscoe ran and tried getting the stick but he couldn't. The 3 boys laughed again. On the other days the boys didn't pass Roscoe anymore. Roscoe was sad wanted the boys to come. There was a rat who was watched Roscoe. The rat helped Roscoe. The rat went into his hole because the 3 boys were back. The boys grabbed sticks and started throwing it at Roscoe. Roscoe started running away then suddenly the chain broke and Roscoe was free. The boys tried to catch Roscoe but they were too slow.
Addle
For a can do I did Addle. For Addle you have to drag the numbers in the spaces to make the sums correct. This game is on transum if you want to play it. If you get all of them wrong at the bottom it will which line is wrong. If you get all of them right you cam claim a trophy at the bottom. I got all of them right. This game is kind of tricky. I got all the answers right because I first new that the numbers that was red would make the answer. Addle helped me use different numbers to make a number like 12 or 20.

LI:To understand the electoral process. For inquiry this week we had to do elections. The election activity I did was to make electoral process. For the electoral process I had to make a padlet on what is an election?,why do we have elections? and what happens during an election? When I went on the padlet I had to sign up because I wasn't signed up before. Then I had to write down the title, questions and the answers for the questions. You can change the background if you want. I learnt to answer questions about elections.

Mixed Problems
LI:To problem solve.
For maths this week we had to do 3 activities. The activities were mixed problems, pencil code and making a interactive times tables grid. I finished all of them but I decided to blog the mixed problems. For the mixed problems we had to answer word problems. The operations were add/sub, multi, div and prot/rati. Some of the word problems was hard and some of them was easy. For some of the word problems I had to tell other people to help me. I had to write down how I solved the problem. I didn't know what protracters and ratios meant so I had a lesson with my teacher.I learnt to solve different kind of word problems.

Reading log
LI:To summaries and retell some texts. For a daily 6 task I did reading log again. I did it again because I am not really good at summarising things. For reading log you have to read a book for 10-15 minutes then you have to write down your summary of the book. You have to write down the book title, the date, who was in the book and the summary. The book that I did was Whitebait Season. When I first read Whitebait Season I got interested in it. I learnt to summarise books and texts.

LI:To summaries and retell some text. For daily six this week I did reading log. I had to make a copy of the reading log on daily 6. Reading log helps me practice summarising things. For reading log you have to read a book for 10 minutes then you have to write down the summary. I read and wrote about Space holiday. You have to write down the book title, the date, who and the summary. I don't need t make any more copies of the reading log because it has a lot of tables to write your summary.

Kiwi Sport
For kiwi can today we had Andy. We were still focusing on throw. We had kiwi sport in the netball court. The first activity we played was called fruit salad. We had to get into groups of 5. I was with Victoria, Sandra, Alayah, Florence and Charlize. We had to name our groups. We named our group cherries. Andy had to call out 2 groups. When Andy called out 2 groups they had to swap corners with each other. If Andy called out fruit basket we had to get surround Mr. Ogilvie. We had to be in the center third when we were playing fruit salad. The next thing we did was recapping on what we did last week. After we recapped on what we did last week we were doing shot put. Shot put is kind of like discus. For shot put we had to have dirty fingers, dirty neck, clean palm and elbow up. If you were right handed you had to face the hall and if you were left handed you had to face LS1 and LS2. We had to get the shot put ball and had to bring it up to our neck. We couldn't grip the ball. Our legs had to be a little bit shoulder with a part. We had to twist our legs at Andy. Our chin, knee and toe had to be all in a row. Once we did chine, knee and toe we had to go low then high,we had to twist our legs again and had to throw the ball. Once we practiced doing shot put we had to get into partners and we had to throw the ball towards the grass. When we threw it the ball was dirty so Andy told us to move back and do throw the ball on the net ball court. i had a lot of fun throwing the shot put balls.

If you Mr. Latu said buffalo you had to say hoo and if Mr. Latu said hay you had to say hoe. If you were to slow to say it you had to sit down, if you do the wrong sound you had to sit down and if you said the sound when the other person was being pointed you had to sit down. For the 1 round we had to practice so that we could get used to the game. Then we had get on with the real round. After we played the game we played target zone. We had to get a hula hoop and had to throw it onto 1 of the cones. There was 3 cones. 1 of them was worth 10 points, the other cone was worth 20 points and the last cone was worth 50 point. We had to throw the hula hoops one by one. Mrs. Piho counted the points. Mrs. Piho and Mr. Latu said that the class with the most points will get a prize. We had to have 1 turn each at throwing the hoop. Our teacher had to throw the hula hoop 2 times because Alayah and Sila didn't want to go. In total we got 230 points. The chant is kiwi can says step up your game challenges we face we will not fear.

Voting Jigsaw
LI:To learn about the leaders of the party election.
For inquiry this week we were doing elections. We had to make a copy of a party voting jigsaw. Then we had to write down the names of the party, the leader, the picture of the leader and their electorate. We also had to add the attribution so that you didn't copy of a person's work that they don't want any one to copy. I asked some of my friends for help because I didn't know some of the leaders, their electorate and the party. I also searched it up so that I could find the ones that I don't know. I didn't know what the electorate meant, so I searched it up and finally found it out. I learnt to learn about the leaders part, electorate, logo and what they look like.

Suffrage Movement POV
LI: To make connections, identify main ideas, summaries, evaluate and synthesis facts through learning conversations. For a reading activity I chose to do my point of view about the suffrage movement. For the pov we had to tell our own point of views about the suffrage movement. We had to make a DLO to write down our pov. I did it on a google slide because I thought that it would be easier for me. When I did my point of view I thought about what I was going to write and make a plan in my head. I think that Kate Sheppard is the bravest woman in New Zealand. I found it fun to write down my point of view about the suffrage movement.

For inquiry this week we had to make a video or a animation about the meanings of the 4 dimensions of Hauora, but first we had to do the planning. We either had to get into pairs, groups of 3 or groups of 4. I was working with Florence and Miiana. Taha Tinana is Physical Health. Physical Health means when you be healthy. Taha Hinengaro is Mental Health. Mental Health means when you express your feelings and thoughts. Taha Whaunau is Social Health. Social Health means when you have relationships. Taha Wairua is Spiritual Health. Spiritual Health means when you think about your religious beliefs. Florence, Miiana and I had decided to do a video. We had to make the video over and over because we said some parts wrong and we couldn't see the Chromebook clearly so that we could see what our script was. We did make a video but then it got deleted, so we made another video. I learnt to make a video about the meanings of the 4 dimensions of Hauora.

Free Rice
Today for a writing can do I did Free Rice again. To play Free Rice you have to donate grains of rice for free to hungry people. If you want to donate rice you have to answer questions. If you want to know if you got the answer right you have to look at the top and it will say incorrect or correct. If you get 5 questions right in a row the owner will send 50 pieces of rice to hungry people and if you get 1 question right the owner will send 10 pieces of rice to hungry people. For Free Rice I donated 180 grains of rice. Free Rice is a amazing game because it can send grains of rice to people who are hungry. This game can save hungry people's lives.

Kiwi Can
For kiwi can this week we had Ms Latoya and Mr Malu. We are still focusing on self discipline and self control. The first game we played was bip bop bounce. The first thing we had to do was to make a circle. After Ms Latoya or Mr Malu had to go in the middle of the circle and say bip bop bounce. You have to say bang before Ms Latoya or Mr Malu says bounce. If you are to late to say bang that means you have to sit down, if you say bang before Ms Latoya or Mr Malu says bip you are out and if Ms Latoya or Mr Malu is pointing at someone else and you say bang that means you are out. After we play bip bop bounce we talked about risky with the teachers. The last game we played was all aboard. Ms Latoya and Mr Malu had to tie 2 skipping ropes together to make a circle. We had to try and fit everyone into the circle. We had to discuss about how we are going to fit inside the circle. We had to do 4 levels. In our first few tries we couldn't put everyone's bodies inside the circle but then Ms Latoya and Mr Malu said that we don't have to put our whole body in.Every round we won the circle started to become smaller and smaller. On the last round we Liane could fit her hand in the circle because everyone was around the circle.

My topic: Stopping people from littering.
My argument: My argument is that people should stop littering.
Audience: Andy Griffiths Group
How will you greet your audience? Hi
|
How will you introduce your topic in a catchy way?
I think that people should stop littering.
|
Write a rhetorical question to make the audience think about your topic: Do you want rubbish to be everywhere?
|
What is your opinion? Write a statement that clearly states your point of view: I want people to stop littering because when you chuck rubbish on the ground it will go to the drain and inside the sea where all the sea creatures are. When the sea creatures see the rubbish they will think that it is food. When the sea creatures eat the rubbish they might die.
|
List some facts or statistics that support your opinion:
|
Do you have a solution to the problem?
The solution is that if we stop littering we will have a clean and happy place.
|
Say your opinion again and warn the audience what will happen if they don’t agree with your opinion.
You should agree with me because if you don’t places will be crowded with rubbish and will smell stinky. Sea creatures will die if we put rubbish in the oceans and other places.

My argument: My argument is that we should blow up fidget spinners.
Audience: Andy Griffiths Group
How will you greet your audience? Hi

I think that fidget spinners should be blown.
|
Write a rhetorical question to make the audience think about your topic: Do you want fidget spinners blown or not?
|
What is your opinion? Write a statement that clearly states your point of view: I want fidget spinners blown because when you go to school and you bring a fidget spinner you will be distracted and won’t be able to get your work done. If fidget spinners are blown students will finish off their work.

List some facts or statistics that support your opinion:
|
Do you have a solution to the problem?
If we blow up fidget spinners students won’t be distracted by the fidget spinners.
|
Say your opinion again and warn the audience what will happen if they don’t agree with your opinion. You should agree with having fidget spinners blown because if we don’t blow fidget spinners students won’t do their work.

LI: To make connections, identify main ideas, summaries, evaluate and synthesize facts through learning conversations. For reading this week we had to go on a link and do activities about votes for women. I chose to write about Kate Sheppard. I had to go on 3 link and read about Kate Sheppard. Then I had to make a google drawing and write about Kate Sheppard. I chose to add a picture about Kate Sheppard so that people could see how she looks like. One of the facts that I was sad about was that Kate Sheppard died on the 13th of July 1934. When I went on the 3 links it helped me learn more about Kate Sheppard. I learnt to find facts about Kate Sheppard.
